Can I order a lampshade or lamp base separately?
Yes! At Madame Garage, all our lampshades and lamp bases can be ordered separately. This allows you to create your own combination or give an existing lamp a fresh look.
Lampshades: What sizes and shapes are available?
Our webshop offers five standard lampshade sizes. Looking for a different size or shape? In our atelier, we can create lampshades in almost any size or shape.

Can I choose my own fabric for a lampshade?
Absolutely! Choose from over 250 fabrics in our collection. We can also create a lampshade using your own fabric.

What lining options are available for your lampshades?
Our lampshades come with a pre-selected lining: off-white chintz, gold chintz or matte gold foil. The lining varies depending on the lampshade design. Prefer a different finish? Other chintz colours, glossy or transparent foils are also possible as a custom order. Contact us via WhatsApp to discuss the options.
Is this lamp or lampshade in stock?
We keep a wide selection of lamp bases and lampshades in stock at our store in Haarlem. However, with over 250 fabrics and various sizes available, most lampshades are made to order in our atelier.
Need your order sooner? Contact us via WhatsApp. We may have your preferred item in stock or be able to prioritise your order.
Is this lamp base available in another colour or size?
Some of our lamp bases are available in different colours or sizes. If alternative options are available, you will find them listed on the relevant product page.
Can I reorder an identical lampshade?
Would you like to order a second lampshade to match one you already own? Of course! Please let us know that you are placing a repeat order.
We recommend sending us photos of your existing lampshade via WhatsApp, including the inside lining. This helps us identify the correct fabric and finish.
Good to know: Many of our fabrics are made from natural materials, such as silk and linen. Slight colour variations may occur between production batches. Daylight, direct sunlight and indoor conditions can also affect the colour of fabrics over time.
As a result, a new lampshade may differ slightly in colour from an older one. This is part of the natural character of these materials.

Can I have a lamp or lampshade custom-made?
Absolutely! Alongside our own collection, we create custom lamps and lampshades in our atelier.
We enjoy collaborating with interior designers, architects and other professionals on lighting for hotels, restaurants and interior projects.

Can you turn my (vintage) vase into a lamp?
Yes, through our Repair Shop we can transform your vase or decorative object into a lamp.
A few things to keep in mind:
- We do not drill into glass or valuable, irreplaceable objects due to the risk of breakage.
- For glass and delicate pieces, we can offer an alternative solution, with the cord running discreetly from the back of the fitting.
- The opening of the vase must not exceed 17 cm in diameter.

Can you create a special lampshade based on my own design?
Absolutely! Looking for a lampshade with fringes, trims, pleats or a more unusual shape? We love working on special designs and bringing creative ideas to life.
In our atelier, we can help develop a lampshade based on your inspiration, whether it's a vintage design, a granny shade or something completely new.

Orders & Shipping
What is the delivery time for my order?
Our standard lead time is 2–3 weeks. During busy periods, such as summer, the holiday season and trade fairs, delivery times may be slightly longer. If this is the case, we will mention it on our website.

Do you ship internationally?
Yes! We ship almost all our lamps and lampshades worldwide. Shipping costs for most European countries are calculated automatically at checkout.
Every order is carefully packed to ensure your lamp arrives safely.

What are the shipping costs?
Within the Netherlands, shipping costs €20 per parcel. Smaller lamps can usually be shipped with the lamp base and lampshade together. For larger lamps, we pack the base and shade separately for extra protection. In this case, shipping costs €40 for two parcels.
Our shipping rates reflect both the size of the package and the care taken to protect each item.
For floor lamps and oversized items, we can also arrange special delivery services, such as Brenger.
International shipping costs are generally calculated automatically at checkout.

Can I collect my order from your store?
Of course! You can always collect your order free of charge from our store in Haarlem. It's also the safest way to transport your lamp.
We love welcoming our customers in person and would be happy to show you our collection!
Can I exchange or return a lamp or lampshade?
Yes, lamps and lampshades can be exchanged or returned in accordance with our return policy.
Please note that products custom-made to your individual specifications cannot be exchanged or returned under the standard return policy. Your statutory rights, including those relating to faulty products, remain unaffected.
Gift Cards
Do you sell gift cards?
Yes! We offer digital gift cards, physical gift cards and special gift boxes. Our gift boxes are beautifully presented, making them a lovely present to unwrap.

Can I see the lamps and fabrics in your showroom?
Yes! In our Haarlem showroom, you can see and feel all 250+ fabrics from our collection and explore our full range of lamp bases.

Are you open on Sundays?
Unfortunately, we're not (yet) open on Sundays. You're very welcome to visit our store in Haarlem from Tuesday to Saturday, between 10 and 17 hrs.

Yes! You're very welcome to visit our store and showroom in Haarlem, the Netherlands, where you can explore our lamps, lampshades and fabrics.
We're open Tuesday to Saturday, from 10 to 17 hrs. On Mondays, we're available for order collection only.
